Rev. C. Earl Stubbs passed away suddenly on July 15, 2008, in Hyderabad, India, at 65 years of age.
Earl Stubbs was born on December 18, 1942, in a farm house near Williamsburg, PA, to Lloyd and Elsie Stubbs. He grew up in Winchester, VA, and then did a tour of duty in the U.S. Army, serving 18 months in South Korea.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Central Bible College, Springfield, MO, and his Master of Arts degree from Covenant Theological Seminary, St. Louis, MO. Earl was ordained in 1973 with the Pennsylvania-Delaware District.
Earl Stubbs was married to Arlene Sorbo on July 1, 1967, at Central Assembly of God in Springfield, MO. They began their pastoral ministry at Spanish Lake Assembly of God, St. Louis, MO. They then pastored in Mifflinburg, PA, for three years. They were appointed as Assembly of God missionaries to India. They arrived in India on April 12, 1975, and were still ministering in Hyderabad, India, when Earl went to be with the Lord.
During the past 34 years, they have been involved in various capacities, but a large part of their ministry has been the pioneering and pastoring of New Life Assembly in Hyderabad. In 25 years, it has grown from four people to around 6,000 people in attendance each week. In addition to this, Earl Stubbs was also involved in ministries throughout South India.
